MONTGOMERY - Canton defeated Montgomery 40-0 and became the sole Small School NTL champions Friday.
Ben Pepper had two touchdowns on the ground and two more through the air to lead the Warriors.
Pepper opened the scoring with a 7-yard run in the first quarter with 7:51 left. After the Brian Jannone kick Canton led 7-0.
Then with 1:50 left before the half Pepper had a 5-yard rushing score. Jannone added the extra point to make it 14-0 at the half.
The Warriors began to run away with it in the fourth as Pepper hit Jordan Campbell for a 22 yard scoring strike with 8:49 left. Jannone added the extra point to make it 21-0
Two minutes later Scott Rockwell rushed 3-yards to put the Warriors up 28-0 after the Jannone extra point.
The Canto offense continued to run smoothly in the fourth as Pepper hit Ryan Kutz for a 30-yard scoring strike less than a minute in.
Then with 2:23 left in the game Tim Bassett ran 44 yards to pay dirt to make it a 40-0 final.
Canton had 240 yards on the ground while holding the Red Raiders to 85.
Campbell led them in rushing with 73 yards on 14 carries with a score while Rockwell had 67 yards on 17 carries to go with his score. Pepper had 47 yards on 10 carries, Bassett had 48 yards on four carries while Wes Moore added seven yards on four carries.
Pepper was 13-for-19 through the air for 157 yards with two scores and a pick.
Kutz was his favorite receiver with four catches for 77 yards while Moore had four grabs for 19 and Campbell had two catches for 30 yards.
Matthew Boone had 51 yards on 11 carries to lead Montgomery.
Canton will finish the season next Friday with their annual Old Shoe game against Troy.
