The North Penn-Mansfield Panthers struck first on a big play, but South Williamsport scored 13 third-quarter points on their way to a 20-12 win.
Joel Whitteker started things off for the Panthers at 5:55 of the first quarter when he hauled in an 84-yard touchdown from Brock Burleigh. The extra point was blocked and North Penn led 6-0.
Ashton Martin of South scored on a nine-yard run with 3:56 left in the half and Kyle Betz hit the extra point to make it 7-6 South at the half.
In the third quarter, Gideon Green ran in from six yards out and Betz hit the kick with 10:03 left in the quarter to make it 14-6. South made it 20-6 with 5:44 left in the third when Green scored on a five-yard run. The kick was blocked.
Burleigh got the Panthers within one score as he scored on a five-yard run with 3:17 left in the third. The two-point try failed and the Panthers weren't able to get any closer.
Burleigh was 12-for-26 passing for 214 yards and a touchdown. Whitteker had two grabs for 95 yards and a score and Garrett Bickhart had seven catches for 87 yards in the game. Nick Kasper had three grabs for 32 yards.
Brendan Hill ran for 26 yards on nine carries for NPM and Bickhart ran for nine yards, while Kipp Hillson ran for eight.
Green ran for 310 yards and two touchdowns for South in the game.
